Three men, Tommy Cline, Ebenezer Davis, and Bob Strauss, work to repair an irrigation ditch in early Fort Collins. The necessity of securing water for crops often caused people to work together to build and repair ditches. This also led to early cooperative ventures in which people pooled their money to finance mutual ditch companies that built and maintained larger and longer canals.
