American West Program to host screening of ‘Midnight Ramble’
Join the PLHC on February 28, 2017 from 7-8:30pm for a special edition of the Public Land History Center’s American West Program. This edition of AWP feature a screening of Midnight Ramble. The documentary film is part of the American Experience series. The film engages in a thoughtful exploration of African American film, cowboys, and the American West during Hollywood’s golden age.
The screening will also feature presentations from two CSU scholars. Dr. Gillian Bowser of the National Resources Ecology Laboratory and the Department of Ethnic Studies will speak, along with Dr. Ruth Alexander of the Department of History. The two will use the film as a jumping-of point to discuss the broader history of African Americans in the American West.
